For more than 100 years, Hillsides has been a trusted nonprofit serving children, youth, and families in Southern California. Founded in 1913 as an orphanage in Pasadena, Hillsides began with a simple yet powerful mission: to provide safe and nurturing environments for children.
Hillsides started as a safe place for people in crisis, and over the years, it has grown into a caring community offering support and hope. Today, we proudly serve thousands across Los Angeles County with behavioral health, foster care, education, and community support programs designed to help people heal, grow, and thrive.
What makes Hillsides different
- Behavioral health services: Mental health support for children, youth, and families through outpatient and residential programs
- Child welfare and foster care: Support for children in the child welfare system, including resource family approval, placement, and wraparound services

HillsidesCares was established to carry forward Hillsides’ mission through evidence-based and clinic-centered therapy and behavioral health programs.
